Meanapause Room

My husband and I went over to see our neighbors newly finished basement this week. We had been in while the restoration was in progress but were thrilled to see the finished product. This visit included a mini wine tasting, so I was happy to catch up with our friends enjoying their newly completed basement. What is with men and basements? Mine calls our basement the man cave! Where can the ladies retreat to?

As we were walking through our neighbors newly finished basement, we walked into a small space they had finished and equipped as a wine cellar. I was immediately struck at how cool the little room was. I’m not talking cool like “kewl” like the teens say. I mean the temperature was a lovely 53 degrees. I was wearing a sleeveless top and wanted to sit down and sit a spell! The room was without humidity due to some machine quietly humming away and the room was filled with all sorts of delightful wines. I told my friend that if she would add a small dish of dark chocolates, it would be the perfect “menopause room”. Since my hormones tend to bring about 5 or 6 spells of uncomfortable warmness PER DAY, a “meanapause” room sounds pretty darn welcoming! Who needs a man cave when a menopausal woman can be cooled down, enjoy some good wine, dark chocolate, and a chat with a buddy? Thanks Susan for the chuckle…but I might need to sleep in there on occasion!

Do any of ya’ll have a remedy to the hot flashes, night flashes, and all day long flashes?

Deb, this is tooooo funny! It sounds like a fabulous, yet expensive, solution to the “problem.” Probably cheaper to keep a fan on in every room!

Deb, yes…waaaayyy to expensive for me to instal my own…but a nice place to visit…Costco’s produce section…now that’s more my budget!

Would you mind if I sneak in the middle of the night? I promise I won’t bother the wine stock….wink, wink

Its always open for you, Deb! Just remember to drink from the right racks so Ray doesn’t hide the key from me;)
