When I married my Prince Charming, he wasn’t an older man. Come to think of it, that was a few years ago, though…Something happened not too long ago that reduced me to pee in my pants laughing. I had returned from getting a
beauty transplant hair cut and color at my favorite of all time treatment center, Soda Salon. I always feel a little sassy and chic with my perfectly straightened hair. My hubs, we work together, remember… said “Wow, it is kind of short”. Since he rarely notices if I have showered, I gave him a smirk. His assistant was trying to make me feel better. She assumed he had hurt my feelings. NOT! She said, “Debbie, older men always like longer hair”. While the hub’s comment barely registered on the Richter scale, this stopped me in my tracks. I started laughing hard. Through hysterics, I managed to cough out, “She just called you and OLDER MAN“! Then I stopped. Because. That. Makes. Me. An. Older.Woman. Uh- Oh.
Just a few months later, we celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary. I shared our wedding photo on Facebook and with a few patients as they came in that day. Many knew us way back then! Brian’s assistant couldn’t believe that dashing, young, thin young man was the same older man that she works with. She was
kind smart scared enough not to say anything about the young, thin woman in the wedding photo!
Just in case Prince Charming actually read this…I think he is more handsome now than he was 20 years ago and he still makes me laugh. I think I’ll keep him .Even if he is older man.
